Grandson Carin is Six

On Sunday, March 16th, we took Melissa, Keith, Kellen, Lain, and Cairn to the "Living Desert" in Palm Desert for Cairn's sixth birthday.  The festivities, besides seeing the animals at the park, were to have camel rides, and do bungy jumping.  We finished the day with a dinner of tacos and cake.

Below are pictures of the festivities:

Skiing in Park City, Utah

On February 20th we drove to Utah to visit with Hugh's nephew, Seth, and his fianceĆ©, Katie Johnson, in Ogden. After a lovely two day visit, we drove on to The Canyons Resort in Park City to join Hugh's brother, David, sister-in-law, Debbie, Debbie's brother, Bob, and Dave and Debbie's son David for a week of skiing and dining in Park City.  We skied two days at the Canyons, and one day each at Alta and Deer Valley.  Most of the days were clear and sunny with nice snow.  Below are some pictures of our stay:

Disneyland

After leaving the "Road to California Quilt Show" on January 26th, we took Melissa, Keith, and grandsons, Kellen, Cairn, and Lain, to Disneyland.  We arrived for dinner, where each of the boys got balloons treats.  The next day we spent the first half of the day at "The California Adventure Park" and the remaining of the day at the "Disneyland Park".  We started the day, taking Melissa, Cairn, and Lain to the Storybook Cafe to meet some of the Disney characters before going to the parks.  Below are some pictures of dinner on the 26th, Cairn and Lain at the Storybook Cafe breakfast on the 27th, and Lain watching the parade at the end of the day on the 27th.

Road to California Quilt Show

On January 21st we traveled to Ontario, California for the "Road to California Quilt Show".  It is held in the Ontario Convention Center and is the largest quilt show in California.  Georgia, being quite a quilter, attended last year and wanted to attend it this year.  Besides showing quilts and the latest in quilting materials and machines, there are lessons on every type of quilting.  Georgia enjoyed some classes and the show.  Below are some pictures of Georgia at the show and some of the quilts on display.  They are truly works of art.

USNA Class of 1963 50th Reunion

On October 23, Georgia & I flew to Annapolis for my 50th college class reunion.  The weekend was filled with a dinner at Bill & Jennifer Earner's home, a gathering of some of the members of the undefeated 1960 plebe crew (We placed 4th in the 1960 Olympic trials and were only beaten that year by our own varsity, who represented the US in Rome; California, the IRA champions; and a good Syracuse alumni boat), a company dinner at the Earner's home, a Friday Brigade parade, a class banquet, the Navy-Pitt football game (Navy won with a field goal with one second left), and a company Sunday brunch, also at the Earner's home. We returned home on Monday after a fabulous week.

Here are some of the weekend's pictures:

Restaurant Le Jules Verne, Second Level of the Eiffel Tower

We celebrated our visit to Paris with lunch at the Le Jules Verne, a restaurant on the second level(40 stories up) in the Eiffel Tower.  The restaurant was a one star Michelin restaurant and earned its stars.  After lunch we were sad that we had to head for the airport for the trip home.

Giverny, France

Today we visited Giverny and Monet's garden.  The gardens were beautiful and I will let the below pictures speak for themselves.
